I have some Ludwig flat-base stands that are super-light.

The Gibraltar Flat Base hardware is very light. DWs 6000 series hardware is too but just a tad heavier because of the memory locks, etc..
For medium weight hardware, I like the PDP stuff. It doesn't have any logos or extra crap on it. It's a third of the weight of my 9000 stands and they're $29 each.

ahhh yes,
BUT THE LUDWIG FLATS ARE THE LEAST TIPPY!!!! i found the DW, and the Gibraltar both WOBBLE like crazy..... with those flat ludwigs, my 24" heavy ride stays put, I'm a total convert! one other flat base that wasn't mentioned is this one...... I have NO idea how well it works, but it is nice lookin...... http://memphisdrumshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_266&products_id=9945 |

Light is right! | ||

For cymbal stands I'm using Tama's single braced Stagemaster stands. I think they used to be the Swingstar line. They are light and plenty solid. Alex
has Pearl 800 series stands that came with his Export kit. Double braced and HEAVY! And those aren't even their heaviest stands! It's beyond me why
anyone would want or need anything that heavy!
Back in the day, even when I hit like a beast, Ludwig Atlas stands worked just fine for me, and they would be considered lightweight by today's standards. |

The 800 series with Pearl is nice.....but im curious how it compares to the DW 9000 stuff.
