Hello Billy, If I was in New York and you were in New York, and say we both had the same time available on our schedule, What would an hour lesson cost?

Here's what I copy and paste to people that email me about a lesson (I hope this helps) -
My studio is located off of a simple subway ride in Manhattan in Long Island City - near the 59th Street bridge. Lessons last an hour and you will get enough stuff to re-align your playing and keep busy for some time. I try to share some "global" concepts that will take time to sink in, but will eventually help enormously. The charge is a hundred dollars per (hour) lesson. I suspect my lesson is best for an advanced, or pro drummer that is self-motivated to get better. I have done weekly lessons, but that is rare. I have also given two or three hour lessons - particularly for people who have traveled from far away. I think it is VERY important that you've seen at least my first DVD instructional, Big Time, before attending a lesson. Otherwise, the lesson will likely be repetitive of the DVD - which is OK, but you will get more bang for your buck if you see the DVD first. You should bring a pair of your sticks, and if possible, a small tape recorder to tape the lesson in case you want to reference it later. Other than that, please think about what it is you'd like to get out of the lesson and share that with me when we meet. If this sounds good to you, let me know when it is most convenient for you to come. I wonder sometimes how many people I've actually taught privately. It isn't many! Maybe there are dozen or so on this board that have come in for a lesson. Teaching privately is an incredible challenge for me (to do well / hit the right button, so to speak) but it isn't an important part of my day to day work. |
