The Background Is Dean had his debut gig as a leader. So it was all about him. There is a copy of me doing a solo, but I don't know where or when he will
upload it. Said something about not Liking how he was portayed in it. Maybe it was because I had to tell him where to come in.

I just got out of a band that was like that. Front man was a Bass player and was always slappin.... it can be cool, but it can really wear on me. Ugh.. 6
string bass, and non-stop slapfest... like a Bass-master sideshow...
He used to get kind of miffed at me because the busier he got the simpler I had to play. When he's doing all 16th notes all the time... I instinctively pull back to just the basics, to prevent it from sounding like a noodling wall of poo.. sigh... I think if you feel you need a six string bass, then you probably should have just played guitar... Anyway... I'm venting..  nice work bro! I hope we get to hear that solo

Despite the bass wanking (which we all know is easier than drums, according to the sage words of Buck Nelson) and that fiery tambourine playing, you're
holding it down. Way to make the donuts!
The last group I played with, oddly, had a 6 string bass player who played really soft and didn't lay into grooves very much. I think he was a converted guitarist... it almost felt more awkward than an "every gig is a chance for me to give a master class" bassist. |
