Just heard the news - a sad day indeed. I kinda lost touch since letting the UK side go to Ev-Entz but hope you get something sorted Billy as I'm down to
my last 10 pairs - should keep me going for about 3-4 years so no great rush

I got a couple of pairs at Billy's clinic in Croydon a few years back and really loved them (the BW model). I even bought a dozen pairs from the UK
distributor at the time but eventually baulked at getting attached to sticks that were so hard to get hold of (in the UK, only a small umber of stores stocked
them). I assume it is very difficult to get decent distribution in an already over saturated marketplace where large corporations are fighting each other with
increasingly exotic and often gimmicky models. The Trueline bump is an awesome invention and I hope other companies adopt it and more drummers have a chance to
try it out.

billy ward wrote: Cheers Billy - all OK here ta v much - and I reckon stixwallah has hit the nail on the head - too many brands, too few drummers, £vs$ not good at the moment, uk retailers reluctant to try something new unless it either has a recognised badge on it or <insert current flavour of the month drummer> has his name all over it. Anyway - I really hope you get something sorted from your personal perspective and no doubt we'll find out in due course - good luck and speak soon |

any news on this front? Billy, is there anything you can tell us?
Los Cabos is having a meet & greet at my local shop on Saturday. I plan on bringing a beat-up BW model for them, asking if they can raise this model from the dead. I've already asked once, but not in person. on a semi-related note, I see that there's an ebay seller right now with some kind of inventory of Johnny Rabb Rythm Saws. I'm plannign on asking Los Cabos if they can tool up to do some of that too... |

Not much going on yet that I can report publicly about... sorry to say. but I am still hopeful that I can get something like my model stick. i'm not sure
qbout the rest of the Trueline models - that looks slim...

I just picked up the last 7 pairs of Billy Wards from Guitar Sam. That gives me 10 pairs in the bank and 4 in the stick bag. Since I've had to cut back on
my playing time this should last me for a while. Hopefully Billy or Trueline will find one of the other stick companies to pick up the technology and carry on.
In the meanwhile if someone is truely desparate I can part with a couple of pairs. Damn shame about this. These are the best sitcks I've ever used, and I've been playing for over 40 years - coming up on 44 actually. Onward and upward, Chad AKA E2P |

Funny thing, i really wanted to try them out, but no one carried them around here. You can't pine for what you don't know. Maybe a more established
company would pick this technology up and they might make it to my corner of the globe.

I am soo late to this party. It is like finding out your pet dog has been dead for 4 months, even though you have been lovingly feeding it thinking he was
doing fine.
At first I would switch back and forth from 5A's to Billy's sig stick, but eventually I got really used to the trueline stick and they became like butter. Speed, finesse, a strong hickory body to handle the rims and I never had to re-adjust my hand position. They should have given us a hint so guys like me could have ordered a big supply. |

unfortunately, I have been very very slow in following through on possible options for "what stick is next". I'm sure you all know the reasons -
which of course are valid, but I feel badly for those of you who got stuck. We'll sort this out somehow at some point.

I too became addicted... | ||
|
...to the 5B and Tribal Assault sticks...but when I heard of the demise of the company, I shelved em. Now I use the Vicky Firth Danny Carey model...it has the
exact opposite of the TrueLine concept...an indented area down near the grip area:
Danny Carey Stick My only wish on this stick is that the overall diameter was larger...more toward a 2B...but I've always played a bigger stick... I do miss the TrueLine stick...my perfect stick would be a 17" Trueline a bit small in diameter than a 2B and the power grip up a touch... amba

Billy, please don't have guilt over the demise of Trueline. It's not your company, plus this is a way bigger inconvenience to you than any of us. On a
marketing side, if the company announced they where in the last weeks of production they would have had a HUGE spike in orders.

I just had to resurrect this thread. I also like the Trueline
sticks and am down to my last pair of 5Bs, 2Bs and I still have a pair of classic 2B Rebounds that are virtually indestructible. So, while searching for a
retailer that might have some, I stumbled upon this little nugget of gold.
DAN: Absolutely, and the
most vocal are myself and Billy Ward. Billy was the guy that taught the actor in the movie "That Thing You Do," how to play drums. Billy has just
gotten back from working with Richard Marx, and he does a great deal of studio work, too. Billy would call up and say, "How you guys doing?" And
I'd say "Fine," and he'd say "Good, because if you guys ever went out of business, I'd hunt you down and kill you!"

He added the "hunt you down and kill you" bit. the rest of that quote is true.
I am making progress with a very good well known and well distributed stick company on a replacement "billy stick". Try to hang in there. |
