I just heard that trueline has stopped making sticks "until further notice". Does anyone (Billy?) know anything more About this? I hope it I'd
not permanent. I love their sticks. Thanks Lrdrumdude

Yep - the economy has shut them down. I'm amazed I found out through you irdrumdude! Incredible...

Man... that's an incredible drag. I loved those sticks too. I'm glad I bought that extra pair of BW sigs when I had the chance.
If anyone would like, I've accumulated a few notes over the last year or two on different ways to apply a Trueline-style mod to straight sticks. I'd be happy to share my information with anyone who wants it. -Jon |

This sucks... I hope there's not more casualties of the economy in the drum world.

I guess no one in our last administration used Trueline drumsticks...
I use the 5B powergrip...or shall I say, "used to." Back to the Danny Carey Siggy from Vic Firth. I do have quite a few models laying around; Billy Ward siggy, Tribal and maybe a few others...and I am very happy to share...if anyone runs out, email me and I'll see what I can do... poo |

Thanks, regretably, for the confirmation. I will really miss those sticks when my Supply is gone. I'm now kind of sorry I Gave so many pairs away trying to
turn Other drummers on to them. I guess that's Only fair, since Billy gave me my first pair. Lrdrumdude

sadly, i expect there will be more fallout from the economic situation in the drumming realm. particularly with the smaller companies.
billy - is this a temporary situation, do you know? amba - do you have any 5A's?

crap. I just ordered 4 pairs from Drum Authority (along with a copy of Billy's book). Had I known, I would have ordered more. Nuts.
However, Los Cabos happens to operate right in my hometown, and I've messaged them to see if they can cop the BW model. Here's hoping anyway! |

My BW sigs are wearing (except of course at the hump) what a drag.
They make good stick! Don't get me started on how bailout money should go to businesses like Trueline, if they are going to bailout businesses.. |

I really liked those sticks.
Luckily I"ve got a case ratholed and we'll see what kind of mileage I can get out of 'em. From an economic standpoint....it's going to get worse. The previous "stimulus package" (aka the Porkulus) passed by the Pres and the Congress did virtually nothing to help businesses...much less small businesses. S

Yes. Trueline is closed for now with making sticks. There are sticks out there to buy if you wish - and you can also email Tim at Trueline and I think what
they have left are 5 bucks per pair.
Tim@truelinedrumsticks.com I'd like to add that since Tim took over Trueline, he has done a solid job given the overcrowded stick market as well as most drummers' unwillingness to try something slightly different. In my opinion, the fact that those sticks last so long was a downfall for them - perhaps. i am no businessman, clearly. I'm working on getting them made for the future... stay tuned. |

The future... | ||

I loved the TrueLine stick simply because it gave me all the permission in the world to relax...there is one modification I would ask for...I felt, and this is
just me, that the power grip was a little low towards the butt-end...I would have loved to have seen a 5B TrueLine that was 17" long and again, the power
grip up just a touch...I always felt like I was more at the end of their stick...I love the stick and would certainly use it exclusively if I could get one
with those specs...but then...who the hell do I think I am? Billy Ward?! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! t093095)(#($)(fj4309gn ,;...4io ..ehe9weqfnrf09q tdfv fd...er
ahem...sorry.......................

I understand your thoughts on this - you are looking for power. But to me, finesse is also important and I think it was a nice place for the hump -
it maintained a balance within the stick. Wanna start a stick company? Got lots of money to lose? I don't. |

I understand the finesse thing...but I wanted more life from the stick...a higher fulcrum...I always went into the stick a little more than some...maybe
I'm lazy in wanting an easy bounce...maybe not...I can see why so many artists want to design their own sticks...
It's a great stick and I really, really hate to see the company go... I also wasn't being disrespectful with my "who am I? Billy Ward?" remark...I was flattering you...you deserve a company to make you all the sticks you would/could ever need...forever. I do like a 17" stick, though...and would love to have a power grip on it... Higher up...!!! |

it's sad to see anyone's dreams be lost because of the lousy economy we are in now, and I am no expert but am seeing a slight change right now
people are still nervous but I am talking to more businesses about upgrading their phone systems,

...I've just pinged Tim and will see what I can get. Luckily I'm sitting on about 10 pair right now, but it wouldn't hurt to have an extra case or
two around.
Peace, Scott

Hello all, yes this is a bummer about Trueline. Up here in Canada, there is a distributor who was handling the sticks and he has quite a bit of stock left. He
has a good cross section of the lines, including the Billy Wards. You can email me at jayzdrumz@yahoo.ca to get his
information, etc.
This is not a solution, but thought I would put in my 2 cents Canadian. Thanks Jayson |
