Anyone else have a good guess?
Another hint, this drummer is to his solo artist as Liberty Devitto is to Billy Joel.
By that I mean he pretty much exclusively drummed for this artist.

Is not the correct answer either.
Ferguson we did get a LOT of rain and low lying areas were flooded, some minor road damage. If there is a consensus, I'll reveal the answer later this evening. |

The Mystery Drummer Is.. | ||

The answer:
Mr. John Molo The selection he played is titled "Bohemian Saturnalia"an original composition based on a live performance jam with John's Jazz band Modereko. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modereko_(album) It's already been established that John's connection to Josh Freese is that he plays DW drums. The major Rock acts that John has played with are Bruce Hornsby And The Range, (he met Bruce at The University Of Miami in the early 70s) The Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh And Friends, and John Fogerty. John won a (Best New Artist) Grammy for his performance as a member of The Range on "The Way It Is". Who did he back up on drums that Billy backed up? Ms. Joan Osborne as a "friend" in Phil Lesh and Friends. Watch John playing with Joan here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSyuUq0fgIA The "punk" artist John played with is Mike Watt, where John lent his drumming to Watt's album "Ball-hog Or Tugboat?" John attended the University of Miami with some stellar talent: Bruce Hornsby Jaco Pastorius Steve Morse Rod Morgenstein among others. Complete discography on John: Discography * The Way It Is - Bruce Hornsby and the Range (1986) * Scenes From The Southside - Bruce Hornsby and the Range (1988) * A Night on the Town - Bruce Hornsby and the Range (1990) * Harbor Lights - Bruce Hornsby (1993) * Wanted Man - Paul Kelly (1994) * Ball-Hog or Tugboat? - Mike Watt (1995) * Hot House - Bruce Hornsby (1995) * Spirit Trail - Bruce Hornsby (1998) * The Strange Remain - The Other Ones (1999) * Jemimah Puddleduck - Jemimah Puddleduck (2000) * Modereko - Modereko (2001) * Meisner, Swan & Rich - Meisner, Swan & Rich (2001) * Trumpet Ride - Willie Waldman (2001) * There and Back Again - Phil Lesh and Friends (2002) * Solar Igniter - Modereko (2003) * Intersections (1985-2005) - Bruce Hornsby (2006) * The Long Road Home - In Concert - John Fogerty (2006) * Live at the Warfield - Phil Lesh and Friends (2006) * Dream - Keller Williams (2007) (He even played with Bruce Hornsby in Virginia Beach where I grew up with Bruce at a lounge called "The Pleasure House Inn" but I was too young to get into bars at the time. My favorite John Molo performance is "Spider Finger" from Hornsby's album "Hot House". Hope you thought this was a good one. |

Sorry I missed this one! I actually have that tune in my iPod thanks to a DW artists collection. Mr. Molo is a wonderful drummer -- got to watch him from
behind with Bruce and the Range and he is just smooth and so effortless in his playing. Plus, he's a nice guy!
