I e mailed our friend Ambadextro, who has given me permission to carry on his legacy temporarily. This drummer (IMHO) is not that well known yet has played with Jazz and Rock (and "Punk") groups, as well as solo artists of prominence. I can say this drummer is versatile like Josh, he is as comfortable playing extended rock jams as he is playing pop ballads.

The people he has backed, definitely recognizable. Greg and Brooks are way more out front (name wise) than this person. His contemporaries are people like Jaco Pastorius and Steve Morse.

As I messaged Brian, this drummer has played on one record that has sold over three million copies and has also played with two BIG names from the Rock genre in the 60s through today.

Paiste Cymbals and DW drums and similar profile of gigs, i might be tempted to say Abe Laboriel Jr. Sounds like a few of the recordings I have with him on it too. His kick is a bit more laid back and his playing is a bit greasier than Josh's. Who ever it is it sounds great!

I don't know - the recording is so kind of "stamped" - sonically it could be anybody. this one is difficult for me! yay!

For those that are interested , the song was developed from live jams with this drummers Jazz band, the song starts in 7/8, goes to 15/8 then 4/4 then back again. Genre is so limiting and we are guessing groove drummers. I, of all people, should know that just because you are known for one or two things doesn't mean you can't do other things... So let's go outside genres that we think of... I was thinking this was an old recording - like maybe the Brecker Bros or some other similar thing. But if this is current, then it could be ...? This is a good one!

He has also played for an artist that you have backed on drums as well. (Just found this out.) Hopefully, giving hints without giving it away..

I did think of Terry - It could be mostly because I can see him being analytical with the concept of this song morphing through some different time changes. Is it Terry Bozzio? We had a ton of rain all late afternoon - it really made me wonder what it was like when Hannah was fresh!
