This drummer astounds me every time...mucho technique and skills, WAI ELEVEN will most definitely give you a "chops-on." Two selections here folks...one to die for...and the other to groove for... Again, please, if you truly know who this drummer is, PM me and I'll confirm your guess and together you and I will tee hee at the rest... Let's get a bunch going on this one... I'm not all that familiar with his drumming but he seems like the only guy that could cover such a wide stylistic range. Also, the snare drum sound is similar to that on a few other songs that I have heard from him.

Honestly, when you move from duples to triples like that guy, there is always a bit of "flex" in the timing. Some would call that "flex" a 'groove". This first song has no flex as it shifts through the paces between triplets and duple hits. It has been fixed by a machine. Impressive? Not to me. It could be anyone - I'm thinking it might even be that evil Navin!!! The second song is more real - humanity abounds. If this is the same guy as the first, then I am really confused, but it does narrow the field. Without the repairs, I've heard some guys that can what I heard in song one - Pat Torpey / Gregg Bissonette and so many more. Of course it would groove more. Too bad it is antiseptic. I think I'll guess Gregg because both of these grooves would appeal to him and it's fun to mention him.

First...Nav, Not Josh...however, yes...he could certainly handle something like this...that kiddo has got it goin' on! Two...Navin can play like this?? Whoa...he must be evil...had to have made a pact with Beelzebub to be able to play like that...! Three...Billy, I figure you've seen it all so not much stuff like this would impress you...although that's not the intent here...but fixed by a machine? Maybe...but I have my sources and will check on that and get back to you...also yes...it is the same drummer...my point was to show the versatility this drummer has... Four...No...not the indelible Mr. Bissonette nor the amazing Mr. Torpey...good guesses...they too fit right into this genre and could do this... Five...I don't take speed...anymore...actually when I did, it used to make me drowsy...!! Come on youngsters...weigh it in... amba

Hi Michael: I am hearing XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXX's guitar tone on both songs, so my first guess is Mike Mangini, the second guess is Virgil Donati. Thanks for your help with number 10. Mr. Mainely Man... Great drummers, indeed...but no...not Mangini nor Donati...yes...those two can and would also tear this to shreds....but this is now of course...a BIG clue... amba

I recognize the space in there, but cannot recall from where... getting old.

When people are smart, it is impossible to tell. when I had lunch with some of the drummers in Nashville, the producer played a few tracks before we went to lunch together and Tommy Wells asked if things had been moved... (not). That track seems devoid of humanity, but I could easily be wrong. I just don't get that kind of stuff.

The fact that the second song is groovy (and something that most could never ever approach) makes this one quite admirable in my view. It is easy to be negative, and that wasn't my intention. I'm way into this! Heck I'm learning here. This is cool! (Hi Slogg - hope you are reading our stories here...) Chris sounds amazing! Good for me to hear, since I'm heading to the Aussie festival in two weeks. Mike Mangini will no doubt be tearing it up.

It finally hit me that that's how you look at that unit...like a hard drive...you choose the file format you want; .wav or mp3 etc ... record...then USB it to your pc...then let PC and H2 communicate...then make a folder and transfer your files...something like that...anyway, am looking forward to hearing some of your stuff, man! I saw him live in Sydney Nova Scotia a few years ago, and he just kills on this kind of stuff. He's the kind of guy that you seem like you'd get off on his playing. Not really my bag, but impressive to watch and try to wrap your head around. I saw a YouTube clip of him recently noodling around with a sampler and some samples from Futurama and The Simpsons---crazy. So...Marco is my guess. Thank you, Aaron! Nice to have your contribution...as always... But no...not Mr. M....he does rattle my mind, however...I've seen just about everything the internet has to offer on the gentleman...he is very, very talented...and humble... Cool! amba
