OK here goes:


Hobbies/interests? - I love reading. Fiction, non-fiction, biographies, science, nature, music, art and mind mags among other things. I have a pretty wide range of interests and it seems to be getting wider!!!

How you relax? - Reading - see above! Also, love to swim and walk with the dog.

Favorite food? - INDIAN!!!! And after that, anything really spicy. Most Asian stuff is pretty good!

Favorite drink? - Mackeson's Dark Beer.

Favorite movie? - "What The Bleep Do We Know?"

Favorite TV show? - Monk

Favorite album? - That would have to be a tie between - OHHHH...... I CAN'T !!!!!!!! There are WAY too many!!!!!

You wish you played drums on what song? - A toss up between "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" by The Band and "Vertical Invader" by Weather Report

Musicians you'd like to work with? - John Lennon if he was around but since he's not, Joe Zawinul - wait, he's not around either.....UHHHH.....James Taylor or Peter Gabriel would be pretty cool.

If you weren't a drummer you'd be...? ( I cracked up when Billy put "in jail".....LOL) . A shrink or maybe an astronomer, ice cream tester always sounded appealing too.

Person you'd like to talk to? - My father.

Most embarrassing moment on stage? - There's so many, where do I start?!!! Playing in NYC in 1974 with an Indian jazz-rock band. I fell off the back of my drum seat after having root canal surgery earlier in the day and too many pain killers, impairing my already tenuous balance and grip on reality. The tabla and sitar players came to my aid, mistakenly thinking I had just lost interest in the set or possibly simply decided to have a little rest on the floor of the stage instead. They propped me up and I finished set......probably very badly. We had to play a lot of slow tempos.

Most memorable performance? - Quite a few but The Fillmore East, Dec. 7th, 1974 stands out as a special one. The last concert ever held there. I was 19 or 20 and it was a big thrill.

Most unusual venue played? - Ephesus in Turkey. A stunningly beautiful, acoustically perfect 25,000 seat Amphitheater built in about 10 BC with a Flintstone's like backstage. We had to make a Beatles type "Hard Day's Night" type escape past thousands of overly excited Turks who were unable to get into the concert. They were climbing all over our cars and trying to crawl in through the windows. Crazy and a bit scary but an incredible concert at a breathtaking venue. Pretty unforgettable.
