two bass drums: 14 X 20 AND 16 X 23. Yes. I'm a believer.
the toms are jazz series 8X12, 14x14 adn 16X16. jazz series snare 5X14 X shell bass drums 14X20 and 16 X 23. the 23 has the bottom of my other bass drums when I use a woofer - SERIOUS-groovy bottom end. It also somehow feels better than a 22 to me. I can't really explain it! The finish is called something like albino ebony - w. a black sunburst. Hardward is black chrome (similar to the black beauties). and yes, that is my signature on each drum - once per drum! John good picks my finishes... I've been playing them alot because they are way too pretty - so i'm trying to get used to them. whaddoyathink?? |

Love the finish w/the siggies....
DeeDubya makes some of the best looking tubs out there, IMHO. I know you're lovin' 'em - I can't wait to hear 'em make some Moosic. Peace, Scott

very nice. dw has really step it up a notch this year with all the new innovations, 23 in bass, x shell, vlt, the classic and jazz kits. They must be very
busy!!

holy freakin' sh*t! | ||

Gorgeous -- at first I thought you captured the last of the Zwood! Just lovely. I have to find a way to get to your studio to hear what they SOUND like --
especially that 23, which is still a damn weird thing to write about -- a 23 inch kick -- much less actually own! Did John apply your signature to the finish?

Mahvallus! I was thinking the same finish when I first saw it... Good to know what it'll look like.
Insurance never covered the kit lost in the flood, still saving, still hoping someone will pay a good price for my DW touring kit. Oklahoma isn't great for reselling DW's and I can't ship them to Nashville, no place to store them... I'll eventually be getting... 16x20 kick 8x12 sus tom 13x15 floor tom Woofer (not sure what size) 6x13 matching snare Congrats Billy!

bunks - yeah, JG put my siggy into the finish - actually it was Louie, the paint genius who did it and lined it up on each drum to kind of sink into the wood.
Blue - Sounds like you are really getting there on what you want - but more than sizes -actually is ...vlt? X?

Wow that looks great Billy! Cymbals as usual? 2 rides, 1 big crash and tiny hihats?
How do you like it? It probably sounds amazing! Why don't you put the 12x8 on a snarestand? The DW9000 stands don't kill the resonance. At least not with my drums. The difference with the jazz series toms are the bearing edges right? Why 'normal' bd's and jazz toms? Just wondering. The hardware looks awesome! Héy, just noticed that you're using die-cast hoops! More focus right? Anywayz, have fun playing them! Looks like we're all getting are new stuff in! If you don't mind me posting my snaredrum:

*&%!!! (So awed and JEALOUS I can hardly speak... if this keeps up I'll have to go to Church on Easter and Confess! And I'm not Catholic!)
Seriously kewwl, and I have questions: 1.) Maple kick/jazz toms, yes, yes... makes sense-- but the shell mount cym stand?? Tom stand?? Hows it doin'? I have maple DW bd, one single hole tom mount, and man is that wood flexi-thin! Scares me. Two toms on a triple clamp in that hole is like OhNooooooShe'sGonnaGivvvvvve! Are the X bass drums thicker? I'd get wood over that! I mean, there's more wood if it's thicker, right? Any flex in yer wood these days? 2.) I've had and loved those ebony multi-mini ported DW heads for years... but there's the ol' MIC problem... Whatr U gonna do? I have an internal mic on a mount, but it has it's drawbacks compared to the old reach-in-and-grab it... So I gave up and put a regular ported head on. And I record maybe once a month! You, you do this for a living! Record, I mean. So... did you go May? Will you change the heads out? Soooo curious... |

http://www.dwdrums.com/drums/jazz/index.htm they have x-shell info also in another part of their site. These are over the top beautiful. you know, Cornelius
has the jazz series kit from Voices. In person, THOSE are really understated beauties.

Billy, I'm going with vlt on the toms and X on the kick...
My normal Jazzish cymbals will be on it alot, 18" K Con (from Billy via a thong...) , 20" K Con (sometimes with a 14" trashformer a la Billy), 22" High Def. , 13" K Hats
