Here's my question to you:
Your drumming style (to me) is incredibly musical, so...how do you go about approaching a new song (that has been brought to you, and you've been given free reign) with a drum part? Do you throw everything at it and then start removing fills and patterns that you know aren't working in the song, or do you just build things up from the basic beat pattern that you felt worked right from the start? I hope that made sense.
