Its been a while since i have been able to post here. But something happend that I had to post about.

I am a father of two...a 5 year old girl and a 1 year old boy.

The other night my son was out of control...just walking around the house scream'n and what not. He has shown some intrest in drumming when ever i practice. Loves to wildly fling sticks around sometimes actually hitting the practice pad. Anyway, i thought i would put vocies in my head in and see...

Just purchased this, its sounds really koolllllllllllllllll, I enjoy the guitar and bass, right up my alley of what i would like to play. And the drums are great, love the sound and the grooves. Billy how are they tuned?

Hey Billy! I needed an intellectual shot in the arm so I plugged in my copy of "Voices" today. There was something I noticed: in your Lineage of Jazz section, all of the guys you mentioned seemed to work in combos; maybe larger ensembles but nothing that would ever really be considered "big band", at least to my mind. I know that Art Blakey played with sextets and Baby Dodds is considered pre-BB, but I think the point still holds.

I guess my question is...

I have been learning quite from your book and dvds .I had reservations about some of your methods . ( I did them anyway ) and they work. It is pretty cool to be getting complimments from the bass player.( I was also blown away by your trio. ) When is your group comming to L.A. ?

Hey Billy,

I just saw your Big Time DVD. At around 1h 13min you talk about practice playing and how one's ear is telling what to do. Then if it's a new thing, things might fall apart and you suggest to stop right there and learn it. That made me think yeah, that's what I'd also do. But what about live/studio performances? You just can't try, you have to pull of everything you do. This question made me register here so I hope you can share your thoughts on this...

Just Received My Copy Of Voices. I know, I'm a little behind the times. Can't wait to watch it tonight.

On a side note. I can't seem to get away from the Stampeders " Sweet City Woman " . Happy little Ditty. And it has Macaroons in the lyric.

RT Red Canz modification question

Just bought the an RT Blue 'Canz' and plan on modifying it ala Big Time.

I already owned one of the Red 'Canz' I'd bought awhile ago since that was the one Billy modified in the DVD.

However I noticed that in the Red one there seems to be a large object in the can that is not in the Blue model. I assume that's to give the shaker a bigger presence.

Without trying to truly go all Julia Childs (actually I'm thinking of Phil Hartman's...

just ordered and received my copy of two hands clapping, loaded it on my ipod and got to enjoy some great music.
never heard this cd before and I thought I already had all BW music.
recently bought some new in ear headphones (higher quality) makes a huge difference.

it is amazing and I love it.

this also prompted me to find all of Billy's picks and go on itunes to update my ipod, some really great music, needed some new tunes.

yesterday I received a letter from Oxnard with a copy of 'Voices' - codefree. At least I hope so
Mistakes do happen - to anyone (but me of course) and to any company as well. How we deal with it is what counts. Billy and DW did a great job, so thank you. After I couldn't give back my first copy I thought I would be stuck with it. But you guys helped me out and that's cool. Great service - happy customers

Trouble Watching New DVD

Hi,
unfortunatley, my DVD-Player says that the DVD has the wrong country-coding. On the DVD-cover it says that the DVD is encoded for all regions. I can watch it on my computer (PC) but not on my normal DVD-Player. I've never had such a problem before. Any ideas how to solve this?

Billy, you were pumped up with a buttload of drugs and feelin' like crap, but man, I personally think you played so damn good in this DVD. I love your solos and you did a great job! I just can't see myself being able to actually play jazz "good" or even "ok", but your explainations helped me understand it more. Just the statement "this is your bass drum" (you point to your ride) "and this is your snare" (you point to your hi-hat) and everything...

Your dvd's always have funny parts Billy. You're talking about practice playing (which is actually what I do and never realised it) and you start rubbing your drumstick on the side of the canz and say "I've never done this before"...then you stop and say "oh...nevermind"....I just started cracking up!
